Review
Breed is a rapper from Club Mango Music, a group hailing from London. This is Breed’s warm up EP and is his first solo project since 2011. His upcoming mixtape Studio Therapy is bound to be a hit. Breed mixes mellow jazz sounds with soft hip-hop beats and vocals them to produce a mixtape that is bound to get you relaxed and just enjoying the music. The track listing is carefully set out to take you on a journey of sound and genre, each track telling its own story. I definitely recommend it you’re a fan of rap, Frank Ocean or even Kendrick Lamar which I think track 5 – “Stand Down” has similarities to. This EP also features some interesting skits that will get you in the mood and start thinking. “Someday you’ll sit on the throne and the truth will be what you make it”. You can tell this EP is not of album quality just yet but is well on the way it won’t take too long before I’ll be expecting to hear this guy being played on 1Xtra, for sure! Especially by the next mixtape. Keep a look out for the rest of CMM on YDK… if you like what you’ve heard so far!
